A Visit To The National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) For Women

In an effort to bring the youth towards technology and train them in cutting-edge technologies that are raging the market, the RTSE foundation was brought into existence. In this regard, the team visited the National Skill Training Institute for Women (NTSE) located in Bengaluru city.

The agenda for this event was to understand the demographics of the women who are going to attend the skill program. It was noted that there are two categories, COPA where first-year girls do not have any programming language knowledge and the second one is CSA, where the girls in senior classes have basic knowledge of Java.

A total of 39 girls attended the program and the minimum age of participants was 15 years (students who have completed higher primary education).

  1. Demonstration: The first ice-breaking sessions was a demosntration on Introduction to AI, benefits, use case scenarios, followed by the current technological trends in the market, facial recognition, example demo.
  2. QnA session: Out of 39 girls, only 15 had some basic understanding of programming.
  3. Python Basics: The outcome of the event was that the girls requested for Python training which was provided by CloudThat.

Conclusion: The visit to the NSTI was impactful in understanding that the youth is eager to learn and enhance their technical knowledge if they are given guidance and opportunities.
